70 Years of SCANPAN: Crafted for Life Since 1956
Founded in Denmark in 1956, SCANPAN began with a simple but forward-thinking idea: to create durable, high-performance cookware while making responsible use of materials. From the very beginning, the brand worked with recycled aluminium, long before sustainability became a global conversation.
In its early years, SCANPAN produced pressure-cast aluminium cookware designed to deliver even heat distribution and long-lasting performance. At the time, the cookware was simply known as SCANPAN aluminium cookware — a single, uncompromising range built for everyday use. As the brand grew and innovation advanced, this original cookware later became what we now recognise as SCANPAN Classic, the foundation on which every future range was built.
Over the decades, SCANPAN continued to evolve, pioneering advancements in non-stick technology, refining production methods, and expanding into new materials and constructions. This innovation led to the development of specialised ranges such as CTX, Pro IQ, HaptIQ, CS+, TechnIQ, Urban, Black Iron, and stainless-steel collections — each designed to meet different cooking styles while staying true to the brand’s core values.
Today, more than 70 years on, SCANPAN remains committed to craftsmanship, durability, and responsible manufacturing. Many of its products are still made using recycled materials, and the brand continues to focus on cookware designed not to be replaced, but relied upon for years to come.
